Skybox Texture Names

List of TF2 Skyboxes for use in Hammer

..::Update::.. Below each picture are the ideal light settings for each skybox texture. If you don't know how to add an light_enviroment entity to your map then you should check out this tutorial: How to Add Sunlight There are also ideal angles for env_sun entities. If you don't know what an env_sun entity is, then refer to this tutorial: by All of the below sun and light settings were all obtained from the Valve Developer Community. All credit for the settings goes to the VDC. However the screenshots were taken by me and credit for the screenshots goes to me.

This tutorial was made to simply help everyone that wishes to map for TF2. I have compiled all the skybox textures for you guys so you can pick which ones you like or dislike. Check them out.

To change the texture of your map's skybox, simply load your map, then go to Map-->Properties (Screenshots #2). Then look for the part in your map properties that says Skybox Texture Name. Just type in the texture name that is on the skybox picture below, and you are set.

As of now, the only skybox that supports a full HDR sky is skygravel01. All other skyboxes will still work with HDR lighting, but will not have an HDR skybox.

To view each skybox texture, just click on the picture to enlarge it full size. Each picture has the texture name that you put in your map properties. Enjoy :D

Posted by Void-S Been meaning to bump this with new info regarding the Night Skybox. Sun Angle: 0 108 0 Sun Pitch: -35 It uses the same settings as Goldrush, besides the brightness and ambience of course. I learned this after playing with it for a while. I'd say go with a purple-ish or light blue color for brightness and ambience, as it is very sunset like.

Thanks for the settings. I updated with the new settings and included you in the author's field.
