Multiple Account Idling With Sandboxie

  1. Download zip file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7077065/idle_files.zip - extract files to desktop

  2. Copy and paste listenserver.cfg into c/program files/steam/steamapps/username/team fortress 2/tf/cfg

  3. Download and install sandboxie: http://www.sandboxie.com - free version is limited to amount of sandboxes

  4. Duplicate Steam folder - remove all non tf2 game files (14GB)

  5. Create email - use your soon to be 2nd steam account name - write it down

  6. Create sandbox - name it after your soon to be 2nd account

  7. Adjust sandbox settings - remove drop rights check/apply - add 2nd steam folder and 2nd steam.exe to direct access list

  8. Launch Steam via sandbox - right click your new sandbox - run in windows explorer - locate 2nd steam folder and run 2nd steam.exe

  9. Create new Steam account - keep name same as email and sandbox name to stay organized

  10. Link new Steam account to email/verify email once logged into Steam

  11. Launch normal Steam account - your primary account

  12. Navigate to Steam properties and paste in server textmode code - find code in server_code.txt from step #1

  13. Launch TF2 into server mode - wait for it to say you have connected

  14. Open secondary Steam account

  15. Navigate to Steam properties and paste in non-server textmode code - find code in non-server_code.txt from step #1

  16. Connect to your LAN server - wait for it to say you have connected

    Alright. I've gotten this to work perfectly. But I want to take it a step further. Is it possible to get these idle accounts on a specific team, playing a specific class? Ive gone as far as installing sourcemod and installing some associated plugins, and nothing so far.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I have no idea. Mine just join spectator. I always thought it wasn't possible to force them onto a team if I even wanted to. I have been doing this for 2 years and never had a problem with them all sitting in spectate.

    Sorry - My 150 accounts have been running for over 2 years and the price of keys was a constant 2.6 refined for most of that time. Traders are the reason the prices skyrocketed over 3 months to nearly double. If you go on TF2OP, you can see people selling keys for 4.3 refined each all the way to 7 refined each.

    Obviously greed is the main factor in the rise of key prices. My metal sitting in my backpack doesn't change your prices - sorry!

    I have noticed an issue that comes up when you use F2P Accounts for iding: Normally one uses the own account plus several (or merely one) additional account that idle together on the same server. Unfortunately, an idling F2P account made especially for idling may find items, but they will be uncraftable. The Solution to this would be adding 5 €/£/$ to the steam wallet and buying items with a total value of approx. 5 €/£/$ (I would recommend 2 keys + a hat for 0.99 €/£, Europe only). (This is also a perfect opportunity for giving oneself or friends the Professor's Speks) I think this should be noticed.

    If you want to run multiple copies at once with multiple sandboxes, you need the tf2 game files.
