installing tf2 skins

I found that the game bananas default tutorial for skins a little...Lacking? Well I am submitting this to clarify for noobs how to install skins.

To Start click the download button

     - In this folder theyre should be 1 of three things file wise
  1. a folder named "tf"

  2. Various folders labeled Materials, sounds, resources, models, etc.

  3. Files that are neither of the above. (They will needed to be placed in a different folder, and aren't folders)

- Please note that some authors will place folders before TF or etc. just open that folder then inside should be one of the three

  1. So if you have a folder named TF Place the folder in this directory

local disk C:, program files, steam, steamapps, steam name, TF2

  • keep in mind this is the easiest way to download skins
  1. To download other folders follow the TF directory but after you get to team fortress download it to the tf folder

  2. Some mods have weird files to download follow the Tf directory then go to

TF, Materials, Models, Weapons, C-items

If the following don't exist create them!

And Always, always trust the merge feature

This tutorial can definitely use a mark-up touch, know that you can escape '_' with '\', and '\' with '\\'

Also, my archives don't show 'tf' as the first folder, instead it's 'Team Fortress 2', which is the folder that is always above the 'tf' folder, meaning you only have to drop that into your named folder; perhaps this tutorial should reflect that as well.
