Team Fortress 2 skins?

What do you think?

By Lex 6 years ago

Hi Guys. I don't know how you feel about skinning for Team Fortress 2, but I don't think they should be changed because they are good. then the sounds also should be changed to fit the skin. What do you think about it? just to hear your opinion.

I doubt many will skin, it will be very hard, I read the tutorial Valve released on how the textures are made, its pretty advanced.

Right now you can't really skin for TF2 cause its just the beta that is out. But you'll be able too when its officially released.

You might be right but I don't like the idea. right now they are kinda humoristic and I like it.

I like the skins, it's the animations that tend to annoy me.

Well I can say that I don't like the texture missalignments on the hands, and I don't like the cartoonish look either. Sure some skins and especially the map textures look great, but the hands and the skin on the player looks way too plain.

If you like the skins and want to keep them then don't use custom skins, but don't tell others they shouldn't be modding TF2.

It's called cel shading. That's the whole point of it.

TF2 isn't cell shaded, it uses a rather advanced rim lighting methods to achieve the looks on the models. I think there is around 5 skins for each model (normal, colour map, rim lighting, bumpmap etc.). I would like to see other skins for the models, though I think they are fine as they are.

I would never DL any TF2 skins that don't fit the art style.
