So, I get happy about the Workshop...

By hunterh98 2 years ago

And I look at the first pages of the popular items... Just one, maybe two submissions abit too similar to a copyrighted game item, but that's fine.... And then after the third page or so, the submissions start getting dumb, and stolen from the front page. So, I go to a submission that had a google picture of a nerf gun, and I was going to comment on WHY the person wasted our time, and it turns out we can't add comments to most submissions. We either need moderators for the workshop, or we need less children on the internet.

'We' don't have to do shit, Valve opened the floodgates, so they're the ones who're gonna have to sort this crap out.

I think it's funny how some of the submissions on there are stolen from this website. By that I mean someone came on gamebanana and took someone else's file and claimed it as their own.

Exactally, it's stupid. This is why this post relates to GB, because there's idiots who are stealing other people's work and claiming it as their own.

Start emailing the legal dept. at valve if your work has been re-uploaded and request they be taken down.

Screw that, Street justice is proven more effective. Or making a moderator team for the workshop.

Considering most of their legal page is about the process to take down content that is yours, I think you should probably stick with that since our forums are flaccid when it comes to changing Valve policy :P As much as I'm sure Gabe lurks here every waking moment heh.

Once their legal Dept. can no longer handle all the requests coming in I'm sure they'd force Valve to have some sort of moderation/approval system in place in no time.

    Hmm...Okay...one problem...how do I E-mail them with a non-yahoo account? I don't understand how the outlook thing works.

Enter the e-mail address, subject and the message and click send.

If you want to be most effective, backtrace the IPs of the people who submit stolen goodies and smash their windows with a bear and sledgehammer.

    Nope!

Same way you email anyone...you don't have to use outlook, thunderbird or any other dedicated PC program.

Nowhere on their legal page do I see anything related to yahoo. Where exactly are you getting that from?
