Custom weapon modeling

How can I make my own models for weapons?

By Bordellimies 4 years ago

So I know how to make skins, but about making models for weapons... I have no idea. Can anyone tell me how to make 'em? (Similar to the Pyro's guitar models)

I have seen those XXXXXnormal files (such as gibsonnormal). They are those blue pictures with green and red lines, and I'm pretty sure that they are important, but i can't see 'em from GCFScape. Does anyone have any information about them?

The _normal pictures are the normal maps. It's a type of shader which should simulate a more detailed surface without having a higher poly model. These files have barely anthing to do with modeling itself.

For modeling tutorials, have a look at the tut section of FPSB.

You would need to decompile the models then you would have to put them in a 3d program and put them onto the other bones of the other weapon, then compile them again.

This is the short explanation, I don't know how to do this, and I might be wrong.
