To much Phong.

My eyes hurt.

By Shephard90 5 years ago

Ok well everytime I try to change the color on a skin or try to re-texture it and then start playing TF2 with that skin, the phong goes out of control. The phong becomes very bright and I can't see most of my skin because there is so much light on it. Idk why it does this.

Here are some pictures to show you what I mean.

the skin you see has already been posted on fpsb, all I did was change this person skin to make it darker. Don't worry I was doing this only for personal use and wasn't gonna upload it here or anywhere else.

Anyways I changed the heavy's gun to black instead of white. I have this problem with some other guns as well.

Does anyone know how I can make it were the phong well stay normal and not become to bright when I make a skin?

Posted by Shwat Maybe they don't have world models?

They do, and sometimes those get messed up to by the phong. In this case its only the v_model that has the phong problem.

I tried to skin the normal shotgun and the world and view model were messed up by the phong.

Are you sure you put the vmt and vtf files in the correct folders? Because I mixed a pair up once and they were very very shiny.

I don't think realism was one of TF2's goals.
