TF2 server creation help

I need help with creating a server and port forwarding.

By Chr0m3_k1ll 5 years ago

So I wanted to host my own server, I know my pc can handle it and the connection is good to.

I looked up the brand and model of my router and went to http://portforward.com

I looked for my model and then picked Steam server (there isn't a tf2 part)

http://portforward.com/english/routers/portforwarding/Linksys/BEFSR41-v3-v4-v5/SteamServer.htm

So I port forward some ports, start the the server, and tada nobody can see it.

I'm also using source dedicated server.

Any ideas what I did wrong?

Did you type sv_lan 0 in console? This variable set to 1 will only allow LAN clients to join your server, and disallow internet clients.

I did and it didn't help.

it wasn't visible in the list and people using "connect " couldn't connect either

Both you if you havn't allready go to whatismyip.com get your IP for there (this will be your external one.The one you must give to players so they can connect.) Then add the servers port, by default this should :27015
