Rainbow Flames for the Rainblower

Because a pure rainbow stream wasn't enough

In this particle mod I changed the original Rainblower particles from a rainbow stream that occasionally glitches up, into a stable stream of rainbow flames. The rainbow flames were left in the game files, unused in the particles. The flame stream functions just like the original flamethrower's flames, except it's rainbow colored.

The mod also fixes the bubbles and flame stream from the bubble blower of the Armageddon taunt, and readds embers that are in the explosion that were unused because of a missing texture. It also adds clouds for the rainbow that were originally white glows, also unused due to the lacking texture.

Please inform me if there is any problem that isn't lag from the taunt. This mod was made using the original particle file from the Pyromania update.

For some reason, this makes my fps drop massively to the point where I basically freeze if I go near anyone with it and shoot/set them on fire with the rainblower. It last for a few seconds then goes back to normal. Might it be conflicting with some other particle effect?

I have no idea what's wrong... This is basically the equivelent of the normal flamethrower with the amount of particles. I'd have to take a guess and say it's something with the Pyroland burning particles. Do the particles work normally in reality?

    Bite me.

when you are inside the tf folder! look and see if you have a particle folder else just trow the hole folder inside the tf folder, but if you allready have it then just copy that file and trow it in the particle folder

Note: its not the particle folder there are located inside marterials

I use Cream Spirit Flames. Even with that, can I use this.

Yes, however you'll have to modify the particles _ manifest.txt (the space is because of Gamebanana's comment coding) from the 'team fortress 2 content' directory "tf/particles". You'll have to take that team colored file, and change it to something like flamethrower_team.pcf . After that and you put them in the same directory, then change this:

    • "file" "!particles/flamethrower.pcf"

    into

    • "file" "!particles/flamethrower.pcf"
    • "file" "!particles/flamethrower_team.pcf"

This'll load both files, but load the team one after this one, overriding it. If that doesn't work, I can see about making a team colored one like that really quick.

Cool, thanks! 'You should make a team coloured one just in case anybody else has the same problem.'
