    What the hell is this?!?

You just played with the tint made the wood darker and lighter...

Takes 3 minutes and still looks dreadful

    6/10

    1) I made custom wood and metal textures.

    2) I made some extra normal maps.

    3) I also made specular maps.

I DIDN'T PLAYED WITH with the tint. IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY WOOD TEXTURES BEFORE I TOUCHED IT.

Its really cool and looks great, but I must confess that I've never seen a fire axe made out of wood. Metal seems so much more intuitive.

I'll probably make a metal texture after this.

    Open Steam

    go to Library (games)

Under that, there should be a drop down menu that lets you sort games

    Go to "Tools"

    Download Source SDK (Free)

Once installed, make sure the "Engine Version" (at the bottom of the green SDK Box) is set to "Source Engine MP"

Select Team Fortress 2 from the "Current Game" below that

    Open Model Viewer

In Model Viewer, go to File, Load Model

Scroll down to the Weapons folder

    select v_models

    double click on "vfireaxepyro.mdl"

make sure the sequence drop down is set to "Idle"

Mess around to get a good angle

hit the "PrntScr" on your keyboard, and go to Photoshop

    Open new file, hit ctrl+c

congratulations, you now have a Model Viewer Render that helps you to make Before/after images without having to worry about in0game screens!

I don't know what to say a thanks is not enough.

    you're welcome

Too lazy to show all the styles?

come on, man, even I showed off all six styles of a weapon I skinned

it's not that hard, and no, I'm not going to do it for you, that's YOUR job as a skinner

    1) Worked hard for it why the low rating

    2) I'll upload the rest pictures later today because i'm currently online with my phone.

the change is rather hard to see, sorry

Take a look on the texture-normals-spec maps and you'll see the difference already.

got a Before/After render image (with model viewer?)

Sorry but i don't have a 3d program to make awesome renders. I made the render with Photoshop CS5.1

    Open Steam

    go to Library (games)

Under that, there should be a drop down menu that lets you sort games

    Go to "Tools"

    Download Source SDK (Free)
