Tribalman's Tomahawk

I made this skin for training compiling models for TF2 and texturing them. There are no menu pics, I'm still not able to make them proper. Nothing more to say. Enjoy!

Thanks at all for all the feedback, it'll help me to improve my next models. I didn't dare to make those painting-like patterns that strong as the original tf2 models have, but with some more training it'll become better.

As people are saying, add noise and/or a subtle gradient to the wood handle, as well as larger brush strokes to paint the wood, simular to that on the fire-axe.

Also on the axe head, add more brushstrokes, with large colour patches using the same brush.

Also turn down the phong on the wood, and add a more contrasting exponant to the head.

Modelwise, exxagerate the head of the model, exxageration is a core part of TF2 modeling, also I would shorten the handle, and make it curve slightly, that way it will look more cartoony. There are also several smoothing errors on the head.

Finally, add a pain train/axtinguisher style grip with possibly a few feathers sticking out. In my opinion it would give the model more personality.

Overal 8.2/10. Its a great start, but you can still add a lot to it too make it better.

Adding a couple engravings on the wood and a little bit of noise all over would make this infinitely better.

The model isn't that bad, but the textures are really dull. Try improving the textures by using real wood and metal textures

I would agree on this though as this is tf2 you its proper.

Though they are a bit to dull for tf2, you could have put a little bit more time into the texture's

Like make a specific pattern that still makes it cartoonish but still give it a non plain look.

So yea other than textures, this is a nice release.
