trade_shoppa_r10

Trade map, complete with picture taking rooms, small jump course, tricky labyrinth, boxing ring and many bonus rooms.

Made for Bazaar.tf by the owner.

The boxing ring has an administrative room a user may noclip into. This room includes buttons, two to toggle a glass cage around the ring, as well as a button to say one of five "time to fight" announcer voices.

Spawns and shop entrances can be toggled in the room described above. More importantly, this can be used to prevent users going on the other team for a team-locked event, but this can also be used for events taking place in an arena.

The spycrab room has a control room that can be noclipped into as well. This room has close, open and taunt message buttons. Rather than using glass, this room has a player clip and a bullet clip to prevent outside players hitting the buttons, and so you can see who is taunting from the room.

Many other fun rooms exist because why not.

    Pros:

    • Looks nice
    • Good boxing ring + shops

    Cons:

    • TERRIBLE spawns

    Improvements:

    • double spawn doors/protect

    • need the control switches for shops located in the spycrabbing control area also

About this module
This module describes aspects of the Map's development process.

DevNotes

r1:

Patched a door. Added spectator cameras. Quietened the Scout.

r2:

Added a control point for bot support.

r3:

Gabe room now disco-fied. Some posters purged.

r4:

Bobbleheads removed due to being buggy.

r5:

Bazaar logos planted everywhere. Credits updated. New rocket jump course room. New labyrinth rooms. New picture taking room. Boxing ring now has a togglable glass cage for server operators' event usage.

r6:

Added spawn room locking. Extended the maze. Improved the boxing ring cage to prevent users walking on the sides. Added a new room connected to the maze.

r7:

Infinite corridor room moved to maze. Spycrab room added. Melon spawner added to secret room. Textures in secret room updated. Shop gate toggles added.

r8:

Melon spawner removed, but replaced with something else. Door blocking Facade lift deals 100 damage/sec. Door blocking Facade doors deals 20 damage/sec. Posters updated. File size trimmed by 5MB as a result. Updated bazaar.tf tagging. Made the rooftop look prettier.

r9:

Logic fix.

r10:

Gman now walks around the maze. Shrek shrine added. Stairs are now playerclipped to make them smoother. Added a func_nobuild to the roof. Updated some posters for our Panda Community affiliation. Facade room updated slightly. Fixed the gas chamber for good.
