A screen accurate replica of the map seen in Meet the Medic!

=TF2 Version (kothdrogentote1)= This is the gameplay version. It contains all the elements from Meet the Medic, but also includes a capture point with a supporting stand, and several other elements.

=GMod Version (gmdrogentote1)= This is the primary machinima version. It is the same as the TF2 version but with the following changes: - A blank operating room (minus the major props). - A blank Soldier room. - A blank waiting room. - A movie accurate slowed down set of double doors (they take 5 seconds in this version to fully open). - The capture point and stand is also removed.

    I agree with others. I dont see myself playing against people on this map (maybe offline against bots, but thats about it) but I would enjoy role playing, and trying to re-act the Meet the Medic scenes. Flawless work my friend, flawless work

    Thanks for the kind words. There are several issues with the gameplay version of the map that I am fully aware of however. Just a heads up.

    Also, this map will never be official. I'm not sure why anyone thinks it ever would become official. Gameplay wise it's not well structured, and Valve have their own version (the original map) which is naturally going to be more accurate than mine.

    Pros:

    • Very nice layout
    • Very nice design
    • Very nice atmosphere
    • Awesome detail areas

    Cons:

    • Needs a few optimization tweaks (Area portals & prop fade distance).
    • A few small lighting issues (A few dark spots and a shadow outside of its area from the base of the O.R. light)
    • Noticed 2 overlapping textures (one on a brush in red spawn above the vent duct outside the OR waiting room and one where a displacement on the left side of the tunnel, on the red side, was even with the brush behind it)
    • The inside frame for the side entrance to blu spawn has a few transparent seams (maybe brushes aren't abutted)

    Improvements:

    • Add some area portals, especially in the red & blu base doorways/windows, to separate areas and reduce how many models are being drawn. If they already exist, make sure the ones in the doorways are linked to the doors.
    • Set fade distance on some props outside (and ones inside if they are visible through a window). Takes a bit of visibility testing, but it's worth it.
    • Tune lighting a bit to eliminate dark and discolored spots
    • Fix overlapping textures & stray shadow
    • Check brushwork on frame of blu spawn side entrance.

    Notes:

    • I haven't played in the map. I only loaded it up solo and ran around to check it out (Hence the lack of gameplay comments).

    • Overall, very nice work. I'm sure there was a lot of thought & effort that was poured into this map. Polish it up & Keep up the good work.

    The map actually has quite a lot of nobuild in various parts of the map. The decision was given to leave that area to be buildable due to the abundance of buildable areas, and due to the BLU spawn being just as vunerable (and there's little we can do to prevent it there. Fair is fair). But I will however consider adding a nobuild in the future to that room if it seems like the right thing to do based on your suggestion.

    As for the lag; Optimization isn't an issue really. Check the following: Does the map lag when passing over/stepping onto the capture point?. You'd probably not notice when it was happening otherwise, but that seems to be the sweet spot. The map is fairly well optimized, but for some reason there is some odd bug causing a moments lag when stepping into the capture point area. It's a bug I'm aware of but have no idea what is causing it. I'm still looking into it though.

    This map gives snapshot overflow errors please put the materials into the bsp I cant run this map.

    The materials are in the .bsp file. The map has been running fine on my server with players for days now without any snapshot overflow errors.
