TF2 Backpack Modification. Makes the backpack look nice!

NoirHUD - Version 1.5 By Taj Deluca (A.K.A. Aurora)

================

~ Where the old dies, the new will rise from the ashes.

================

Installation:

1) Open up the ZIP folder (Which you've already done if you're reading this) and pop the CONTENTS of the "tf" folder (in the zip file) into YOUR "tf" folder.

2) Launch the game (or restart it if you've already got it open). You should then have the new HUD apply itself to the backpack and store elements of the game!

================

Update Notes:

1.0: Initial Release to a small selection of people (Yay!)

1.1 (18/10/2012): Updated to include new backpack HUD elements - Strange Parts Dialog - Set Style Dialog - Paint Item Dialog - Now includes functionality to rotate preview hats! - Restore Item Dialog

1.2 (20/10/2012): Updated Store Icon for "All" filter. (took me long enough!)

1.3 (1/11/2012): Fixed an issue with Weapon Selection Menu. Turns out I forgot to include an updated file! Oops!

1.4 (2/11/2012): Fixed Zombie Skins not showing up correctly/invisible. Hopefully included resource files this time!

1.5 (8/11/2012): Added ability to navigate backpack using A and D keys (Thanks e.V.e HUD!) as per request!

================

Other Notes: I've spent many hours working on this. It only applies to the Backpack and Store but there are a lot of mini things in that which took a lot of time to work with! Feel free to contact me if you find any bugs/cosmetic issues. I am aware of the cart image being a bit pixelly. For some reason it looks terrible when it's resized. Otherwise please enjoy this! It was made to reflect what TF2 is today, and not what it was in the past. Also someone had an issue with EyeFinity and VSync.

================

Special Thanks: Lucy: Cheers for pushing me to do this! Otherwise it would have taken me a lot longer! ^_^ ALSO FOR HELPING WITH THE NAME! YEAHHHH!

My Brother: Initial Tester. Helped me figure out problems with packaging, missing materials etc.

    Yes. One important note is that it will have problems if you use this HUD on sv_pure servers :/

    This is a very nice HUD.

    I just didn't liked the background, so I replaced by the default one (gray)

    In all my stupidity I forgot to include resource files with the 1.3 update... I've included them now. Sorry about that.

    Downloaded this, but I'm hesitant to use it after the latest update. I think it may conflict with some of the new stuff.

    Why would it? All this does is change backpack images. Not an actual Heads Up Display alteration. Those huds that change how the charge meters, health bar, money display, etc. are only messed up after updates because of new values that were added such as MVM Money and Merasmus Health meter that weren't in the old version of the hud.

    Now if the backpack display was completely changed in the last update this GUI would be broken, but alas nothing has changed with the backpack so this should be working as flawless as it had been before the update.

    Well when I had it installed, it made my haunted items have the old purple color and not be highlighted. They're highlighted cyan now that I've removed it.

    I find this really odd since my HUD does not mess with the things which determine item colours (ClientScheme.res). Do you use any other HUD's alongside this which modify that file? I do not experience the issue myself, even after a fresh install of the HUD.

    I used frankenhud and removed it. This works fine now.

    Quick question; Did you use that PSD file with all the class emblems from here on GB? If so, you may want to add me onto the credits for "making that emblem PSD file".

    If you didn't use my PSD file, you may want to check it out.

    Regardless, if you did use my PSD file for the emblems, give credit where credit is due.

    Hey, this is interesting! I don't know whether or not you made the same PSD but I used the one made available in the TF2 Media Kit. I was under the impression that Valve had made this, and I had given credit to them for the assets (Which I swore I could have done somewhere...). Anyway I'll add Valve unless you can prove to me you made the same PSD provided by them. I made this HUD using only the materials in TF2, and provided by Valve at tf2.com, in order to avoid any potential conflict along these lines.

    As for the people who have downloaded and rated, I thank you! This feels like a great success on my part! I am still working on tweaking some interfaces, but I will have to wait until the drop-cap resets to fully test it.

    Ah yeah, that Media Kit. That one is essentially the base that I used to create my PSD file. Mine is much more extensive though. It's got EVERY emblem. The Beta "Skull" emblem for the Heavy, the original unused Scout emblem, the original Demoman TNT/Bomb emblems, etc.

    EDIT: Actually, the version of the Media Kit I used as a base was a leaked, older version that this guy named Uzikus was given by Robin Walker, which Uzikus then publicly offered. That version had some of the older emblems in it. Quite a neat find, but I compiled my huge PSD file using that.

    Check it out, it's really quite a great resource! You could probably use my PSD file for the older beta emblems, and make some "quick-swap" replacements for people like me who like beta/unused content, and/or people who are using Beta-inspired skins for their game. You'd hit a huge target market with beta content.

DevNotes

It's taken me over a year to work on and tweak but I feel it's finally ready for some sort of public release.

I used applications like Notepad++ and some graphics editing program to create this modification.

I realise the store is a bit incomplete at the moment. I want to work on creating some better icons for the cart and the All-Class selection.

I am also not sure what this will look like on certain resolutions aside from 1280x1024.
